Trust & governance center

Clear claims. Verifiable evidence. Credit-union control.

This center explains the operating standards CU Finance Products uses when discussing products, providers, workflows, member communication, and program implementation.

Core position

A third-party relationship does not transfer the credit union’s responsibility. Our role is to help make the facts, decisions, ownership, controls, and evidence easier to understand and manage.

Six commitments

What credibility should look like in practice.

01

Product accuracy

Use the approved legal product name and contract terms. Distinguish GAP structures, service contracts, warranties, insurance, waivers, and debt-cancellation agreements accurately.

02

Voluntary member choice

Present optional products without implying that acceptance is required for loan approval or favorable terms. Document acceptance or decline accurately.

03

Evidence-based providers

Support credit-union review of ownership, business model, financial capacity, controls, licensing or authorization, subcontractors, references, complaints, and continuity.

04

Controlled workflows

Define eligibility, rating, contracting, document delivery, access, reconciliation, cancellation, refunds, claims support, complaints, and escalation.

05

Role readiness

Train each participating role on approved product facts, member communication, workflow, documentation, questions, and escalation boundaries.

06

Ongoing accountability

Monitor provider service, member issues, exceptions, cancellations, refunds, claims support, training needs, changes, and exit readiness.

Due-diligence readiness

Evidence a credit union should expect to review.

The exact request should reflect the relationship’s risk, complexity, criticality, member impact, and data access.
